INTERSOM Conducted 3-Days Refresher Training for Community Hygiene Promoters and Cholera Response Teams in Kismayu

In April 2025, INTERSOM organized a three-day refresher training in Kismayu for fifteen Community Hygiene Promoters and five Cholera Response Teams as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen public health interventions in the region.

The training focused on enhancing participants’ knowledge and skills in cholera prevention, outbreak response, hygiene promotion, and safe water practices. Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical demonstrations, participants reviewed essential public health messages, case management protocols, and rapid response procedures.

By refreshing their expertise, INTERSOM aims to ensure that these frontline teams remain well prepared to respond quickly and effectively to potential cholera outbreaks, while also promoting healthy behaviors within communities. This initiative reflects INTERSOM’s continued commitment to saving lives, preventing disease, and improving community resilience in Kismayu.
