In July 2025, With support and funds from Somali Humanitarian Fund (SHF), INTERSOM Relief and Development Organization provided sanitation tool kits to support Solid Waste Management and Clean-up Campaigns in Kanjaron and Nasrudin IDP sites, Kismayo in response to the cholera outbreak. These tool kits have essential cleaning equipment and aim to empower community members to actively participate in keeping their environment clean and safe.
This activity not only helps reduce environmental health risks but also promotes community ownership in maintaining hygiene and preventing disease outbreaks. By strengthening local capacity for waste management, INTERSOM is contributing to healthier living conditions for vulnerable displaced families.
