In June 2025, With Support from UNICEF INTERSOM Relief and Development Organization successfully distributed hygiene kits to vulnerable communities in Jowhar. This vital initiative aimed to improve health and well-being by providing essential hygiene supplies to families facing challenging living conditions.
The distribution included Bar soap, Aqua Tablets, Chloro-floc, 20litre jerycan, 20litre buckets and Sanitary pads (MHM items). Priority was given to households with women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Through this effort, INTERSOM reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding community health, preventing disease outbreaks, and enhancing the dignity of vulnerable populations in Hirshabelle State. The activity also served as an opportunity to raise awareness about personal and environmental hygiene and sanitation.
