The Organizational Structure

The organization has a board of Directors consisting of seven members who normally play the following role and responsibilities:

  • Determine the Organization’s Mission and Purpose
  • Monitor and scrutinize the Executive’s day-to day activities
  • Support the Executive and Review his or her Performance
  • Ensure Effective Organizational Planning
  • Ensure Adequate Resources
  • Management of organizational resources Effectively
  • Determine and Monitor the Organization’s Programs and Services
  • Enhance the Organization’s Public Image
  • Serve as a Court of Appeal
  • Assess the organizational own Performance

The BOD conducts quarterly meeting to discuss on the way forward and identify the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats for necessary amendments. The main office carries out all administrative issues regarding the field operations. INTERSOM is legally registered with the federal government, local authorities at regional level and district level especially in the areas of operations.

The governing structure of the Organization is divided into three parts:

  1. The Core founders
  2. The Board of Directors and,
  3. The Management team

Founding members

The founding members are the supreme authority of the Organization and are the decision makers. The founding members initiate and issue resolutions on the general policy, planning and implementation strategies of the Organization.

The founding members approve the constitution and elect the Board of Directors.

The co-founders who are three in number are the final decision makers of the Organization.

The Organization has a Board of Directors comprising five members. The Board is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the overall operations of the Organization are being carried out as planned. It will also ensure efficient and effective utilization of human, material and financial resources of the Organization.

Structure of the BOD

  • The Management Team

The functions of the Management are related to the nature of their duties. The managers must execute the instructions and the job descriptions issued to them by the Board of Directors.

The top Management hierarchy (chain of command) of the Organization is made of the following:

  • The Executive Director
  • The Program Coordinator
  • Administrator
  • Area Manager
